Developers: download SEREVAL.SYS, a special trial version of ONEYSER. This is a full-featured copy of ONEYSER, except:

• SEREVAL will stop working at the end of 2010.

• SEREVAL stops after transferring 100,000 bytes in either direction.

• SEREVAL is free.

Implementation Note:

Many USB serial emulators omit fully robust handling for RS-232 signal lines. ONEYSER includes a Device Manager property page provider that allows you to tailor the behavior of these input signals:

• CTS -- Non-standard (using bit 7 of the SERIAL_STATE report), always follows RTS, always on, or always off.

• DSR -- Standard (using SERIAL_STATE report), on/off as device is plugged/unplugged, always on, or always off.

• DCD -- Standard (using SERIAL_STATE report), on/off as device is plugged/unplugged, always on, or always off.
