Shell Extension Wizard (Freeware)

Building shell extensions for Windows 95+ and NT 4.0+ is straightforward but very tedious because of all the boilerplate code that's needed. I wrote an application wizard to create skeleton shell extensions.

The wizard runs with Microsoft Visual C++ version 5.0 and can generate many types of shell extension (but not namespace extensions, sorry).

This is freeware. I'm providing it strictly "as-is" with no warranties of any kind. Sorry, but I can't provide any help if it doesn't work for you or the explanations in the generated README.TXT aren't sufficient to explain the customization you need to do. But you can e-mail me if you have suggestions for improvement. (Bear in mind I might not be able to answer the e-mail, though.)

You'll download XWIZ5.ZIP, which is about 32KB. It contains XWIZ5.AWX, which belongs in the directory \Program Files\DevStudio\SharedIDE\Template or wherever you installed the VC5 shared files.
